"The workcards are based on practical Roamer work done
by teachers all over the world. They save you doing the lesson preparation
countless others have already done." Dave Catlin, Managing Director, Valiant Technology.
These curriculum based student activity cards provide appropriate reinforcement
of the subject being addressed be it language, maths, science or technology.
Each pack relates to specific areas and levels of the curriculum discussed.
The first to be developed are the Maths Packs to level 3. Other subjects
are under development.
Maths Packs
The activities in the Roamer Maths Packs focus on key ideas in a topic,
e.g. measurement. By its nature Roamer work is not restricted and such
activities will automatically involve other themes: Units - Estimation
- Number etc.
These colourful work cards . . .
Provide children with practical experience of mathematics.
Offer the only effective way of introducing some ideas.
Provide an alternative for presenting or reinforcing concepts.
Complement other mathematical work.
Students love Roamer. It makes Maths exciting and in particular it facilitates:
The presentation of abstract ideas in a concrete way.
Group work.
Cross curricular activity.
The development of mathematical language.
Understanding of maths through problem solving and discovery.
Creation of an environment where pupils learn from mistakes.
