GEARS
The Inventa gears are components made from a strong yet flexible plastic
that provides a degree of tolerance to ensure smoothly meshing gear trains.
Each gear has the number of teeth marked on it as well as a starting point
to allow students to work out gear ratios quickly and easily. Since they
come in 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 tooth sizes the gear ratios are simple and
sensible.
Designed to be a push fit on 5mm shafts, simply ream out the central
hole for a running fit.
The gear profile enables you to use them as bevel gears and they can
also be used as pinions.

LINK STRIP
Link strip is at the heart of the Inventa system. It allows gears and
pulleys to be mounted with a high degree of accuracy and can be used to
provide strong structures following engineering principles. Excellent
for frameworks.
Link strip has been priced to be comparative with woodstrip. This flexible
material can be cut, curved or permanently bent.

ADAPTOR PINS
For joining, rivetting and hinging. They push fit into 5mm and in addition
the long adaptor pins fit onto the shafts of dc motors while the short

BEARING BRACKETS
& BLOCKS
Aligning shafts and making sure they turn easily is one of the prime
difficulties in making mechanisms work properly. The bearing bracket and
bearing block not only help to eliminate this problem, but they also provide
exciting design possibilities, for example mounting gears in cardboard

ADAPTORS
The Inventa system includes 5 different types of adaptor - straight,
side, parallel, end and cross. They can be used with dowel to create scaffolding-like
structures or to help join different parts of a mechanism or structure.
They are incredibly useful components that reduce a lot of the "fiddling"
that goes into making working models.
