| Dave served a practical engineering apprenticeship before graduating with a degree in Mechanical engineering from Bradford University. After 15 years as a design engineer, inspired by the work of Seymour Papert, he co-founded Valiant with the late Professor Tom Stonier.

| He is the designer of all Valiant products which have been awarded 2 Millennium Innovations Award, The Horner’s Award for Best Design Using Plastic (British Plastics Federation), The BETT Award for Best Primary Equipment, The Queen’s Award for Innovation and the inclusion of a product in the book: Best of British Design published by the Design Council. He received recognition from Michigan State Teacher for his contributions to technology education and recently received a Congressional Partnership Recognition Award from the US House of Representatives for his work in Brooklyn. |
