 Horner's Award
The prestigious Horner’s Award is run jointly with the British Plastics Federation and the Worshipful Company Of Horners (an ancient guild and livery company). It is awarded for innovation in plastics design and manufacture or in the processing of plastics.

Most of the ancient guild’s have been adopted by a modern industry. Many of the artefacts once made by horn are now made by plastic so it was natural for the British Plastics Federation to keep the link with this ancient craft.

The Horner’s Award is open to any industry and by winning it Valiant once again showed how innovative the education industry is. We were not that sure we should have won: our daughter was still drinking milk and we were delighted with the “upside down cup” – that came second.

The presentation of the Award was held at the fabulous Mansion House in the City of London . As you can see we all turned up in our best finery. Alas, getting a taxi back from the city to Balham proved impossible so we had an adventurous time getting home on the underground!
